Our Story

At Hugo’s Pelmeni we tried to combine our extensive travel experience and exposure to tastes of different dumpling cuisines into easy to understand and enjoy dumplings menu. We picked Eastern European Pelmeni dumpling for it’s size and great adaptability to different sauces. Pelmeni belong to the bigger family of dumplings, and are related to Ukrainian vareniky, Polish pierogi and Italian ravioli. They are dumplings consisting of a savory filling wrapped in thin, unleavened dough. At Hugo's Pelmeni the filling is minced meat (pork and beef, lamb or chicken) which is mixed with various spices, such as black pepper and diced onions. Vegetarian Pelmeni with potato are derived from Ukrainian vareniky and contain seasoned boiled potatoes with minced sauted onions. Our dumplings are made fresh from locally sourced ingredients and we strongly believe that taste you are about to enjoy is highly dependent on great attention to detail we put into preparation of each batch.
