Chef Josh grew up in Michigan working in local kitchens throughout high school, ending up in one of Grand Rapid’s most popular farm to table restaurants. He attended the Sechia Institute for Culinary Education where he learned valued techniques and the importance of using fresh, whole ingredients. Chef Josh moved to Chicago in 2006 to continue learning, working in a number of professional kitchens and learning from culinary greats.
Soon, Chef Josh became a personal chef, and found himself working for a few clients that were overcoming cancer, the ultimate stressor on the human body. Using food as medicine, he relied on anti-inflammatory ingredients, powerhouse superfoods, herbs and spices, clean sources of meats, and organic produce to create delicious, satisfying meals. What he soon realized is that anyone with any level of stress in their lives can benefit from this type of diet, and enjoy it. As more busy Chicagoans were asking for his prepared meals and snacks, Kitchfix was born.
