Scott Hampton opened Clocks Etc. in May of 1976 with a 400 square foot space on Mt. Diablo Blvd. on the east end of town in Lafayette specializing in antique timepieces. With his wife, Wendy Tamis, Clocks Etc. expanded over the years to 1300 sq. ft. and added new clocks and home accessories.
In 1999 we moved our store to a 2600 sq ft. space in La Fiesta Square in the center of Lafayette and we expanded our inventory to include an eclectic collection of clocks, home and garden accessories. We are pleased to feature clocks and garden items made by artists from around the country. Please visit “about our artists” page for more information.
We are very active in the Lafayette business community. Scott was president of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce in 1997 and served on the board of directors for many years. Wendy is currently on the Board of Directors.
We support the local schools as well as local charities through gift certificates and donations. In addition, we have hosted fundraisers for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and have helped to raise over $30,000 for the organization since 2004 to raise awareness about ovarian cancer.
