Our highly skilled staff partners with parents to provide a safe, joyful, and enriching environment for children. We are committed to providing ongoing professional development to our innovative teachers.
Botanic Gardens Children’s Center is an inclusive community which values individual differences among children and diversity in families and staff members. Our families come from all over the world, enriching our classrooms and our community. Affiliated with Harvard University, we give priority to Harvard families in admissions; we also serve the greater Cambridge metropolitan area. Many of our parents are visiting scholars from other countries. It’s not uncommon to hear four or five languages spoken in the same classroom. Recent BGCC families have come from China, Israel, India, Germany, Greece, Italy, Korea and Spain. We look forward to you joining us!
We offer a warm community-based setting for children and families. Our Center is designed with space for active play and quiet exploration. Our classrooms feature open floor plans for whole-group gatherings and cozy spaces such as our lofts for smaller groupings. Our newly redesigned playground supports the nature-based components of our curriculum and our activity room is a wonderful spot for gross motor development as well as our music and yoga programs.
Botanic Gardens Children’s Center is a private, non-profit child care center which offers high quality care and early education in a nurturing environment. BGCC is one of six childcare centers affiliated with Harvard University. Originally the Harvard Law School Child Care Center, we have been serving the Harvard and Cambridge communities since 1971. In 1999, our unique early care and education program moved to its new and expanded home, which was specifically designed for young children. With the new location came our new name: Botanic Gardens Children’s Center (BGCC). Our current site was once a botanical garden for Harvard and is still dotted with exotic trees and plants. We offer a warm community-based setting for children and families.
