My great grandfather, Don Saville, opened Saville Flowers in 1942 with the ambition to bring beautiful flowers to the people of Evanston. Now over 75 years later in the same location as the day we opened I am so proud to be pursuing the same sentiment and carrying our legacy into its fourth generation of family ownership.
Growing up in the shop my mother instilled and fostered in me the passions that have made our store so successful; engaging customer relations and community involvement, and ultimately the utmost appreciation for the natural beauty of flowers. Working by her side flowers became an inherent part of my identity. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to honor, reimagine and build upon the brand and reputation my family has built in the greater Chicago area.
The aesthetic of Saville’s honors classic European floral design with a touch of the extraordinary and unique. We strive to create a feast for the senses in every sophisticated arrangement and bouquet that leaves our store, incorporating a lush mix of textural foliage amongst our unusual blooms. We're always up early searching the flower markets for the freshest blooms to be sure our vintage cooler is stocked with an impressive assortment of cut stems. In the boutique, our experienced staff is always eager to help customize a thoughtful handtied bouquet or fresh arrangement in one of our unique, decorative vessels. Being a cornerstone of the Evanston retail community, we also carry an array of antique furniture and custom home décor pieces along with a variety of unique greeting card and candle lines.
My mother touched the lives of so many of her customers. Working with some of them for over 35 years as they celebrated life’s biggest moments from birthdays, funerals, weddings and anniversaries. In any occasion we’re so thrilled to add a touch of living seasonal beauty to the celebration. We constantly strive to set ourselves a part and provide a remarkable shopping experience that only local retailers can offer.
Through educational classes and community events I am eager to engage with other flower enthusiasts. Through our engaging workshops I am thrilled to demonstrate the patient, graceful, & magnificent force of nature that flowers represent. Flowers are so incredible for their fragrance, delicate structure, fleeting beauty, and connection to season and place. In our hectic and overworked lives I hope to inspire moments of beauty, grace, and reflection in appreciating the awesome beauty of a flower. That is my meaning and my purpose.
