Our Story

Thibault le Cloirec is 28 years old and originally from Brittany (FRANCE). It’s there, thousands of miles away from the Golden Gate and the steep streets of San Francisco, where everything started for him. Like many people of his generation, Thibault had the desire to create and start-up something to be proud of and to share with people around him.

Following his encounter with Katharina Schlauss in Paris in March 2014, Thibault had the idea he needed to begin the American journey. Together they decided to go to the USA and start CREPES S’il Vous Plait.

In reality tough, a guy from Brittany that leaves his home turf and the beloved Atlantic ocean might quickly feel out of place elsewhere. So given he could not go home every weekend, Thibault decided to bring a piece of Brittany and of France to San Francisco. After graduating from EMC2 culinary school and going back to the roots to Rennes while training with Farines Treblec, Thibault understood that crepes from Brittany, product and memory of his childhood, would be the product that people in the USA would equally appreciate.
