Here, you will be transported to the world's most acclaimed culinary region: the seaside resort of San Sebastián, Spain.
We use fresh, local and seasonal ingredients to re-create the unique and vivid flavors that have brought so much fame to this beautiful region in Spain. Our small-plate format encourages sharing and trying a variety of dishes while our intimate setting promotes lively interaction.
The story of Chef Hector and PintxoPote is a story of passion and a story of Silicon Valley. Hector, like many in the valley is a technologist. After completing a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Stanford, he spent many years in the high tech world. Although that was his profession, his passions lay elsewhere - in food and wine. Engineer by day, Hector spent countless hours cooking and studying the cuisines of the world during nights and weekends. He was interested not just in recipes but also in the complexity of flavors, cooking techniques, properties & history of ingredients, various cuisines, wine and wine pairings. Hector is passionate and unwavering in his belief in authenticity. No compromises - that's a philosophy he holds whether it is food or wine (or anything else for that matter).
However, Hector has a special spot in his heart for the cuisine of Spain, the home of his ancestors. After several years of cooking for friends and catering for large events, when an opportunity - PintxoPote - presented itself, there was no looking back. Years of experience now allow him to focus on creating the most authentic Spanish tapas, pairing them with Spanish wine and sharing his knowledge of food and wine with his customers. Delighting customers is now a passion.
