Our family of businesses has been servicing customers' watches for over 100 years.
In 1911, my great-grandfather, a young immigrant watchmaker, set up shop in a bank lobby in Toledo, Ohio. He was able to take apart 9 different watches, mix the parts together in a cleaning machine, and put them all back together properly! When replacement parts were unavailable he made them. At one point early in his career he traveled to the coal mines in Pennsylvania taking in watches from miners as they headed into the mines and returning their repaired watches at the end of the day.
The first out-of-town facility opened during the Great Depression in Gimbel's Department Store in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Following this early success, hundreds of additional locations opened in major department stores coast-to-coast.
We take pride in providing an extremely high level of friendly customer service. Many of our employees have stuck with us for years or even decades. They appreciate the personal touch that comes from working for a fourth-generation family-owned business.
