Our Story

“Sababa”, a hebrew and arabic slang expression conveying satisfaction, is the namesake for a new fast-casual restaurant concept offering fresh Mediterranean cuisine in a modern and artfully designed setting. The Israeli born chef and proprietor, Guy Eshel, is teaming up with successful restauranteur, Matt Semmelhack, to bring the tasty street cuisine of the Mediterranean to San Francisco. The restaurant will be offering distinctive, customizable pita sandwiches and salad bowls with our signature falafel, local and sustainable meats, organic vegetable salads, and house-made seasonal pickles and sauces. Sababa will offer a focused, value-driven beer and wine program showcasing food-friendly Californian wines by the glass as well as rotating craft beer selections. In addition, Sababa will also offer non-alcoholic frozen beverages such as mint lemonade and locally roasted coffee.

Sababa is designed to be scaleable, and has aspirations for expanding to multiple locations. We are currently seeking serious food/hospitality investors interested in this long-term, growth oriented, and exciting restaurant concept.
