Our Story

Born in Mexico, Felipe came to USA when he was 21 looking for work. He walked up and down Mission St, San Francisco looking for work until he found a dishwashing position at a local taqueria. He put everything into his work, working up to chef and then manager in a single year. He began to dream of opening his own Taqueria, honoring his roots in his new home. He met his wife, Patricia, who was a dental assistant by weekday, and ran a little furniture shop at the flea market by weekend. They moved to Chile to start a family and built a small Taqueria there. After years of struggle, they returned to California, ready to begin anew.

They opened “Adelita’s” on August 29th, 1998. Working hard, putting in all of their heart and savings for over a decade building up their masterpiece. They’ve run the store ever since and expanded in 2010 to build a new bar, more tables, and a bigger kitchen to better serve you.

Patricia and Felipe are passionate about the quality of the food they serve. Their focus authentic taste and making sure you leave satisfied, with a warm smile on your face.
