In the five years we have been open, Sweet Bar has woven itself into the local community, via our bakers, baristas and cooks, the food we make, the coffee we serve and the energy and care of our team. Turnover is fairly low and our most recent baker departure--after 3 years--started as an intern from a local culinary school!
We are kind of old fashioned in that we make everything we serve, even though there might be easier or cheaper ways to do it. Thats just not for us, and our customers return over and over because of it. We won best croissant from the East Bay Express in a blind taste test!
