We started with the simplest of ideas. Let’s create an environment where people feel welcome, happy, and completely at ease with us. These things don’t come by accident; they are a product of deliberate actions. Ever since, we’ve worked hard to orient our actions to achieve this goal.
Secondarily, we wanted to push the envelope within specialty coffee forward, and keep things exciting for both us and our customers, all the while maintaining the highest possible level of quality within specialty coffee. We drew inspiration from our own travels and the abundant diversity of the Bay Area. Our theory: Customers will be drawn to exceptional coffee that uses exceptional flavors from places around the world we’ve been to or want to visit.
Along the way, despite the challenges we kept focus on our differentiating factors - treating our customers incredibly well and serving excellent coffees inspired by our own travels and the rich diversity of our neighbors. These factors are clearer and more tangible now to us than ever before.
